ABOUT
VALERIE
KIFFIN LEWIS, ESQUIRE
Valerie Kiffin Lewis is a Florida Supreme
Court Certified Mediator who established Employment Dispute
Resolutions, Inc. (“EDR”); a mediation company designed to
assist employers decrease exposure to liability by employing
alternative methods of conflict resolution. Ms. Kiffin Lewis
has mediated over a thousand cases as a private mediator,
contract mediator for the 17th Judicial Circuit Court,
Broward County and the Equal Employment Opportunity
Commission (“EEOC”). Her experience includes, but is not
limited to mediating disputes involving employment, sexual
harassment, wrongful discharge, personal injury, real
estate,
professional malpractice, landlord/tenant, and breach of
contract issues.
As a contract mediator for the EEOC, Ms. Lewis employs the
skills necessary to assist parties in resolving employment
disputes to avoid the cost and expense of litigation.
Additionally, Ms. Lewis is a Florida Supreme Court Qualified
Arbitrator, who is currently under contract with the 17th
Judicial Circuit Court. Ms. Kiffin Lewis’ initial contract
with the Court
Mediation Arbitration Program commenced approximately 20
years ago as a Juvenile Arbitrator. Among other
presentations in the area of employment and labor law, Ms.
Kiffin Lewis has lectured for the American Bar Association
on Employment Mediation. She has served as Chair, Mediator’s
Qualification Board, Southern Division, and continues to
serve as a Board and
Committee Member. She currently provides pro bono mediation
services for the Florida Bar, and is a panel member for
numerous organizations, such as Department of Business and
Professional Regulation (“DBPR”), Department of Vocational
Rehabilitation, Florida Department of Agriculture and the
Florida Medical Quality Assurance Inc., a Florida Medicare
Quality Improvement Organization for the State of Florida.
Ms. Kiffin Lewis is involved in an array of professional and
civic activities. As an attorney, Ms. Kiffin Lewis was
selected by her peers as one of South Florida’s “Up and
Coming” top lawyers.
